[ILUG-Webdev] applets and getParamter()

Hello,

    I've been reading the Java API, and they say that getParameter() returns
a String. Which is grand but what if you're trying to pass into the applet a
numerical value ?

I've come up with a way around the problem (which I'll include below), but
is there any less roundabout way of getting there ?
