Use 'sed', although it won't do multi-line changes in one go (probably?) you 
could run it a few times on each file. 
Wrap it in a simple bash script 'for' a loop to 'find' each file to 'do' the 
changes until you're 'done'.

Oh yeah, lots of hints above :)
