Hi,
How can I quickly determine which Red Hat Linux Distribution and Version is running on our host machine via ssh?
I used the HTTP Header Viewer at
http://www.delorie.com/web/headers.html
and it returned
quote:
------------------------------------------------
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Date: Thu, 04 Sep 2003 08:27:41 GMT
Server: Apache/1.3.28 (Unix) (Red-Hat/Linux) mod_ssl/2.8.15 OpenSSL/0.9.7a PHP/4.3.3 FrontPage/4.0.4.3
X-Powered-By: PHP/4.3.3
Connection: close
Content-Type: text/html
------------------------------------------------
I tried
cat /etc/redhat-release
cat /etc/issue
and got messages like No such file or directory
Tried
uname -a
and it returned
Linux ourfqdn.com 2.4.20 #19 SMP Fri Aug 15 07:17:34 BST 2003 i686 unknown
Thanks
