Lufthansa Systems Chooses Linux

Nice2Cats writes "Remember all of the jokes about operating systems as airlines? Well, Heise is reporting that Linux is just going to take over the computer systems of Germany's airline Lufthansa instead. SuSE and Lufthansa Systems have a joint press release (in German, it should appear here when it comes out in English) out where Karlheinz Natt from Lufthansa Systems gushes (my translation): 'We are registering a steadily increasing demand for Linux-based solutions from our customers.' "

Red Hat Inc. on Monday fired a warning shot at The SCO Group with a pair of legal actions aimed at disarming SCO's claims of copyright violation over Linux.

There has been more talk of impending drunken boasting of installing Linux on 386s and Printers and the like. Rumour has it this event will take place in Messrs. Maguire's in Dublin, on Thursday next - the 7th August from about 19:00 onwards. Come one - come many !

An open source grouping has gone on the offensive against the SCO Group after the latter told companies using Linux to pay up or else face liability for running the open source operating system.
