The second and more interesting if my memory is correct the French Air force will loose its main operating system. I would not like to be on the wrong end of an argument with those guys. Or that is what you might think from reading this.

A sysadmin comments on moving his wifes PC to linux.
It does not mince words on the topic of why it is that spyware is a problem.
I suppose it could be titled: "How I learned to stop worrying and love Linux." The basic position it takes is a simple one. Everyone knows there is a spyware problem but no one wants to fix it.

Posted By Niall Walsh - 14:27, 3 December 2004
As drawn to our attention initally by Caolan McNamara (a man who should know a thing or two about document formats having written the excellent wv programs for converting .doc files), you can get the facts and figures on the 2005 Irish budget in OpenOffice.org Writer and Calc formats aswell as the more traditional Pdf and Word/Excel files.

Unreal Tournament 2004 and Doom III have both released updated versions for Linux. Actually the UT2004 download is a common patch for all systems (including demos), while the Doom III download is an update for Linux primarily to bring alsa support including 6 channel surround sound. You can also get the Doom III SDK for Linux from the same page!
