Mircosoft are showing their true colours again, this time refusing to make a fix for a Denial of Service attack available for NT4 (Flaw in RPC Endpoint Mapper Could Allow Denial of Service Attacks). In essence, they say it is too difficult to write a code-fix or service pack for NT4. Repeat after me: "Thank God this can't happen in Open Source systems."

Red Hat Linux 9 Out On 7th April

Red Hat Linux 9 will be released to retail stores and FTP servers on the 7th of April, with paid Red Hat Network subscribers able to pick up ISO's on the 31st of March.

MS shared source twitches towards liberal licensing

A new form of Microsoft's shared source licence agreement unearthed by Microsoft Watch suggests that The Beast is at the very least experimenting with forms of words that might work, as opposed to engaging purely in propaganda efforts.
