Hi - I'm *VERY* new to linux, since I got it free with PC Plus about a week
ago!!!!!
I have a few teething problems which I hope someone can help me with.
I am running Red Hat v5.2 on a 3.0Gb Hard disk which is partitioned in to a
2Gb Dos partition with Win 98 and a 1.0Gb Linux partition.
The installation process went very smoothly and Linux seems to be working
OK. The problem is that I can't access my DOS drives or my CD-rom - or
rather I don't know how to access them! I ahve a few books which I am
constatnly referencing : "Linux in a Nutshell" & "Using Linux". These give
loads of details EXCEPT how to access drives, especially MD-DOS drives &
CD-ROM. I have downloaded KDE 1.1 and have it in a folder on the DOS drive.
The hda drive is not listed in the /dev folder, but the CD-ROM is. I
installed from the CD-ROM initially anyway!!
Can anyone help please?
Thanks,
Colm.
