If you run twm instead of fvwm does it still do it?
How are you logging in? If you have a graphical box with a penguin in the
corner
then put in your username, password, and press F1 instead of Enter. Then try
running twm &. If that gets rid of it, it's an fvwm thing, and just use
a real window manager.
If you don't have a login box, check .wmstyle in your home directory and
change it to twm. I think you can also change to twm in the fvwm menu thing.
Fvwm (the version in RH 5.2) is the most horrible bastardised thing out there.
I liked fvwm until I saw that. Blackbox is your friend.
