I just downloaded the new gnome RPMs.
Much nicer than the 1.0 release. Seems lighter on the machine too, but
I'll know that for definite when I get home and try it on my 64MB home
machine.
Using Window Maker and the panel auto-minimised lets you maximise
windows without the panel going over the window. and gmc seems faster,
and the ability to mess with associations is a much needed addition. I
might even leave it on for a few days now :)
ee and another program refused to install, complaining of missing
guile.so.2 (I have .1)
It was a major pain installing it, as was the previous version. When RH
and other distributors include it by default I'll be much happier!
One thing that bugs me is the gnome-core rpm requires enlightenment. You
don't have to use it, but it has to be installed (didn't try --no-deps
so might work without too..)
Donncha.
