Hehe... the only reason we all know this is because we all probably
banged our heads off the monitor in exactly the same way at some
point in the past.

I know I did :-)

Forunately I overheard a conversation of someone else with the
same problem who was told the solution for gcc on a Solaris box,
so I got to solve it without actually asking anyone :-)
