I don't know if this is of any value, but there are two GNU forth
implementations, which do (I presume) run on linux:-
gforth and tile-forth. They're available at good outlets for GNU software
everywhere. They might be useful test environments for you.
I haven't used either. Haven't programmed in forth either. However the
documentation for gforth appears to be fairly extensive.
I have docs for both in tarball, html format if you want them.
