this is actually very interesting to me.

i actually have semi-access to an nt network, and i'd love to set up a
system that would allow for users to be created on the fly based off of nt
user accounts. i think dave a. (i won't butcher his name) wrote up a pam
smb tool (see, irish linux people do a little more then drink guinness),
and i was wondering what would need to be done to add that capability.
obviously there's an issue with uid/gid, but redhat's useradd utility
might come in handy here. also nt usernames can probably break linux
limitations for what can be in a username - there'd need to be a method
of moving them into linux compliant names. then home dirs would need
to be created, etc.

anyone have any comments on this idea?
