 mutt doesn't really have filters as such, but it has 'hooks'. They allow
 to execute arbitrary commands before performing some operation. hooks
 normally operate on the mailbox you're reading, but those that act upon
 messages are slightly different.

 Matching is done using a powerful builtin regexp engine. The "~s" operator
 acts on the Subject: line.

 This is really different from filters, and procmail is your friend :)

 sendmail can use plussed addresses, too.
