Sorry, I left out the most important part - it gives these messages just before
freezing the installation.

Does anyone have a loan of a newer distribution ? Preferably someone I can
meet at lunchtime tomorrow somewhere in the Baggot Bridge area ?

These are just warnings noting that the kernel can't name some of your
PCI cards. It's quite normal. It's not a problem. It won't stop you
using these devices.
