Because SGI are doing it better than the intel machines, that cobalt chipset
is scary, 12X faster than the AGP 2x... funky shit, and the machines look nice.
They don't really have an option in the workstation market anyway, SGI machines
already probably have as much of the market as they're going to get, and
the Visual machines will sew up the Intel/NT workstation market quickly
and easily. However, they have to work very closely with MS because MS-Sp3 won't
work on the visual's for example, you need SGI SP3...
