Toms Object Tutorial on perl.com is quite a good guide as well (see
http://www.perl.com/pub/doc/manual/html/pod/perltoot.html) as well as the
chapters on OO programming in Sriram Srinivasan's Advanced Perl Programming
(see http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/advperl/).

OO stuff in perl can seem a bit messy when you first use it, but the
advantages are almost immediate if your working on any sort of large
project.
