I'd still be inclined to strip the message bodies, just in case
of accidents.

Aha!!! It's not very widely known that the NSA have secretly
made a deal with all US CPU designers to include code that takes
everything thrown into your bit bucket and use an antenna embedded
into the CPU package to transmit it to the nearest Echelon listening
post. :-)
