According to MSDN if recv() receives this error then
"The virtual circuit was reset by the remote side executing
a "hard" or "abortive" close."
So it seems like the CVS doesn't like what WinCVS is sending
is and closing the socket explicitly?
Are you sure that the windoze client and CVS server are compatible?
Is there any settings you can tweak to make then so?
