PRESS RELEASE: Irish Linux Users Group announces free monthly seminars

"Although Microsoft Windows is the first computing environment most
people are likely to see, there are many, many others. The Irish Linux
Users Group are a group which came about to raise awareness, and spread
knowledge about, the Linux operating system and the many applications
which are available for it. Linux is the fastest growing OS in the
world, with an estimate 15 million users worldwide.

The Irish Linux Users Group (ILUG, http://www.linux.ie/) is currently
running monthly seminars on various aspects of running and using Linux,
from an introductory level to more advanced system administration and
software development material. The next meeting will be at 2pm on
Saturday, 19th February 2000 in the Hamilton building in Trinity
College, and thereafter on the third Saturday of every month. More
information is available at http://www.linux.ie/DublinMeetings.html.

Topics which will be presented this month are an introduction to Apache
(http://www.apache.org), the most popular web server software worldwide,
the use of Linux in schools such as St. Olivers Community College,
Drogheda (http://www.soccc.ie), and the Lightweight Directory Access
Protocol (LDAP, http://www.OpenLDAP.org), which controls file access in
large networks."

I realise this is late for this weeks edition, but I was kind of hoping
you might include it in the future, and possibly pass it on for
(possible) inclusion in the Technology section of Friday's business
supplement.

Thanks a lot,
David Neary
