A new application into the fray is StratosWeb (commercial) recently announced on
cola. Still looking at it at the momment but its seems to be...
* an apache derivative and replacement or perhaps native apache with a
new module (source for this may not be available)
* php like language for the creation of web scripts.
Comes with some development tools for creating data entry/display
forms. Supports MySQL in free version; Oracle support may cost
money. Its main purpose seems to be the simplification in developing
user/database interaction scripts for database maintainance tasks
especially (not selects), field validation and this sort of thing.
Scripts are also "compiled" into a binary form which presumably
makes them more secure or "closed" if this is an issue.
Here's the hype
