Sendmail has a few files. It doesn't have loads of inter-referential
files.

There is a file called "/var/qmail/rc". It looked to me like the
equivalant of ~/.qmail file, for the whole system. So, I replaced that
the line "./Maildir/" with "| deliverquota ./Maildir/ 100000S".
I did a few other things, and nothing worked. It took me ages to work
out that some other script starts off qmail-send as "qmail-send `cat
/var/qmail/rc` some other params". So, when it started up, it barfed. No
logs, no error messages, nothing. I had written my own authentication
stuff for it, so I thought it was that that was wrong. So I removed the
authentication stuff, put back the original qmail-getpw file that I
compiled up else where, and still nothing, though it was different.
Any application that can be completely trashed - and be silent - when
it's config's are messed up, is crap.

Useful. That's why it gets the 4/10. It's crappy design & useability
affect's is Usefulness so much, that it loses 6 Kate's own brownie points.
