Right.
I'm trying to setup my palm pilot to work as both a serial terminal and as
a VNC console, and as a PPP client. VNC will work as soon as I get the PPP
stuff working.
However, I can't even get the serial terminal software (PalmTelnet has a
serial option) to work. I can get a login prompt up, and write in my login
name. However, when I write in my password, it's in plaintext, and it seems
the palm pilot is sending a newline every character. So I can't login. Took
me a while to realise it gets cranky if you don't tell it to use Xon/Xoff.
It seems that the text is stair-stepping. Dunno why. Could be that I've
set "Return" to be "CR" instead of "CR/LF". Also, a backspace is treated as
a newline.
On the server side, what do you need to do to get PPP working ? Will
# pppd /dev/ttyS1 9600 10.2.1.2:10.2.1.1
work ? How do I set stuff like netmasks up ?
