That's what all the court cases in the US have been about! The DeCSS program
allows people with a DVD-ROM to view the films on their Linux box. But I
don't know if some/most/all drives are supported but you can watch the films
aswell as the usual stuff (reading data tracks as in files and directories).

PS: DeCSS is not a pirating tool like the Movie Companies have been saying
in the courts. They're lying ********. But I'll try to keep my ranting to
slashdot ;-)
