Sorry for the OT, but -- we're hiring. If you know someone who might be
interested -- pass it on! We're after the following people, starting
ASAP.
Engineer People:
We're looking for engineers with good C ability/experience on UNIX
platforms. General UNIX know-how, knowledge of how to write good code,
initiative and an ability to think on your feet regarding development and
debugging is important.
You'll be developing internet applications to run on an embedded system
running a UNIX OS -- the Webnote in particular. There's also a good bit
of GUI programming involved if you fancy that; we're currently using QNX's
Photon environment.
Web People:
We're also looking for people with good HTML and web-site design
experience. This job would primarily be oriented around producing small,
customised launch sites for our customers, displayed when one of their
smartcards is used, and help pages for end users, etc. However, more
complex scripting will be involved soon, so knowledge of PHP, Python
and/or Perl would be beneficial. Again, we're a UNIX shop, so UNIXy
know-how is a big plus. The servers {are,will be,bloody better be}
running Apache on Linux.
About the company:
Netnote is currently based in Shankill, Co. Dublin (but near the DART and
due to move into town!). We make the Webnote, a low-cost internet access
device (it's on sale at the moment in the ESB shops). The website is at
http://www.netnoteinc.com/ .
If you're interested, give us a shout with CVs etc.; send them (in text
format -- no DOC attachments please) to jobs at domain netnoteinc.com .
