Well, I looked in nearly every shop in Dublin which sold it, and the only
version I could find was the 'doze one (what's a Macintosh ? what's a
Linux ?) so I gave up and gave in. Do ID do the same thing with Quake 3 as
they did with Doom i.e. if you bought the full version, you could use the
map files (.WADs IIRC) with the Linux executable, assuming you could get
the Linux executable somewhere.

I tried once or twice and it was miserable - I kept getting connection
lost :-( Of course, I only have a lowly 28.8K modem - is that the problem
or is it simply 'doze problems ?
