script error? it's probably the tinet chat sequence.. you need something like
"!!" username \
"" \password\
or don't use a script at all and use CHAP instead (you don't need to do
manual authentication for CHAP).. in which case you should have:
noelmc * password
* noelmc ""
in chap-secrets, and
username noelmc
in /etc/ppp/options (check that with the man page for def though).
