FW: [ILUG] [OT] Genesis Europe, dirt cheap Internet access..

Well they are on the ball anyway. They just called back. Registration costs
£20. The cheapest option costs £12.50 a month and ranges upwards. For this
you get approx 1.5mbps and up - depending of course on how much you are
paying. They also said that there would be no problem using linux. They
don't have a website up and running yet unfortunately. They are sending me
an info pack in a few days though.

If you register, you can start the cheaper calls straight away. Soon after
you should get the telephone line interface. They said that by sending out
the box now before the actual service is ready means that you will be ready
to go when the service starts - sounds better than Eircom already ;-)

It probably has something to with this :

This cable should be operational for June and Genesis say their Operation
should be going by November. I called and asked a few Q's about linux and
bandwidth and stuff. They said they'd call back in a while with some
answers.

Anyone see the advert in the Sunday Tribune yesterday? this ISP promises
45Mbits to your house over standard phone lines. It's a flat rate
service, with no concept of peak/off-peak usage.
Their Internet service won't start until November, but they also offer
low cost international calls, ~12p/min to the USA..
Their number was 1800 436 37 47 but I don't know if it's active now. The
ad said it was active for the weekend.

I asked about Linux support but the techie there didn't know for sure
about support. If you ring, make sure to mention Linux :)
