We had a "proof-of-concept" Beowulf set-up last year consisting of 16 486's.
We hope to escalate this year to a ~10 node Pentium III 100Mbps Switched
Ethernet system. Last we were simply becoming acquainted with the paradigm,
but with the new system we hope to have a look at parallel music processing
and parallel vision algorithms (possibly).

I believe a couple of the other Universities have also set up Beowulf's. I'm
not
sure how many but I believe both TCD and UCC have Beowulf's in use.

Regards,
John.
