Of course, when I say XDM, I should have thought that it's now called
GDM. Mutter. And, changing config files & restarting X doesn't work. You
have to...er...restart GDM too.
Just have to add something to the end of the last line of gdm.conf, as it
happens. Kick ass. I notice that I'm using even less RAM with backing
store turned on.
