[ILUG] Irritating Backspace behaviour

Hi.
Obviously something got broken when the power went over the weekend here
(yup, I left my Linux box on for 4 whole days, silly of me to assume the
power would stay up).

I now find that the Backspace key (grey one above Return key , below F11
& F12) has the effect of deleting to the right rather than the left in
the Netscape compose window; nowhere else - no other application, e.g.
emacs or xterms are effected...

I guess that some app defaults file has got corrupted? Ze qvestion is
which?

Any tips?
