Now that you mention it, while we never had any problems with the 1gig jazz
drives, as soon as we got the 2gig drive we had a few issues with it.
coworker backed up to jazz and reformatted machine (in a fit of temper :-))
and restored from the jazz only to find to his horror that his accumulated
5 years worth of mail (180+megs) could only be read to about 70megs in. linux
was throwing all sorts of scsi errors at me, tried it in a windows machine with
the same effect except that windows exploded rather than complained. Ran some
tools over it, but basically twas a hardware flaw with the jazz disk itself,
serious pain in the ass.
