GTK seems to be flavour of the month/year/decade depending on
who you ask :-)\

Seriously, though, I hear it's real easy. There's even a
form designer tool under development (called glade).
Miguel (aka Gnome head guy) says glade is cool.

Anyway, that's my hearsay...
