Hi,
I have installed SuSE 6.0 recently
I have a 100 Mhz 586 with 32MB RAM and two 10 Gig Hard Disks
MS Windows 95 is installed on the first Disk and Linux is installed on
the second Disk
'df -k' procduces the following output:
Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on
/dev/hdb1 1014784 777537 184808 81% /
/dev/hdb8 3017520 2361431 500027 83% /usr
/dev/hdb5 1014784 1934 960411 0% /home
/dev/hdb9 2035638 1184638 745775 61% /usr2
As part of the initial installation I set up '/', '/usr' and '/home'.
I set up '/usr2' afterwards.
When I run fdisk and type 'p' I get this:
Disk /dev/hdb: 255 heads, 63 sectors, 1027 cylinders
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdb1 63 2097647 1048792+ 83 Linux native
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary:
phys=(1023, 15, 63) should be (1023, 254, 63)
/dev/hdb2 2097648 20044079 8973216 5 Extended
Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary:
phys=(1023, 15, 63) should be (1023, 254, 63)
/dev/hdb5 2097711 4195295 1048792+ 83 Linux native
/dev/hdb6 4325392 4588415 131512 82 Linux swap
/dev/hdb7 4588480 4851503 131512 82 Linux swap
/dev/hdb8 4851568 11094047 3121240 83 Linux native
/dev/hdb9 11100915 15309944 2104515 83 Linux native
Is there any way to fix these problems without deleting the partitions?
Given that fdisk knows what the wrong values should be, can it fix the
problems?
I have Partition Magic 4, but when I run the programme in MS Windows, it
does not appear to give a accurate view of the Second Disk, probably
because of the errors.
Regards
Conor Lennon
