[ILUG] malloc problems in libc.so.6

When using malloc and libc.so.6 (RedHat6) and debugged there are loadsa
warnings complaining about malloc.c and ../sysdeps/generic/getenv.c and
many other assortments of errors..

When many mallocs are used this can cause the program to crash.
gcc does not complain only when debugged..

These do not occur in libc.so.5

anyone seen this ??
