Hi Joe:

AFAIK, the problems you describe seem to be a common complaint with Mandrake 7.0 in particular. Have also heard of similar problems with Corel, just not as many. Best bet would be to forget about the GUI installation and go text-based instead. You'll be better off anyway as you'll have full control over what is installed and where it goes. Hope this helps.
