first, spyglass was based on mosaic, and iirc ie used to have internal
references to mosaic. it might still. my understanding was that ms
initially was going to charge for ie and spyglass was to get a
percentage. then they gave it away, so a percentage of zero is...
needless to say spyglass was a bit upset.
netscape didn't use mosaic code for legal/ethical reasons.
