]considering that the result has been a pollution of .com instead, as a
]stack of Irish companies (with domestic customers and an Irish focus)
]register as .coms purely to avoid the hassle involved with a .ie.
]
]And the last thing .com needs is more pollution.
Personally I would have put this down to people prefering the 'sound' or
'look' of a .COM address. Most internet address are .com - or at least,
most addresses that the general public would be looking for. Mr. Joe Bloggs
would most likely start looking for a company by putting in
www.companyname.com, even if it is in Ireland.
I don't know of the hassles involved in registering a .ie address - I
remember registering a .org address 'cos it was cheaper.
