Hi,
Microsoft is looking for Slashdot to remove a number of
user comments relating a to a recent article they posted
about Microsoft's Kerberos implementation (their extension
and breaking of the protocol in Windows 2000). Some of
the posts made reference to, or including copies of MS documents
detailing their changes to the protocol. Microsoft is claiming
copyright infringement under the DMCA and wants the articles
removed.
What is Irish law like in this area?
Recently there was a case in England where an ISP was found
responsible for comments posted on their service, (the comments
where considered slanderous of the person filing suit).
There has also been similar cases in Germany.
If the document got posted to ILUG would Microsoft have any
legal grounds to have it removed from the online mail archive?
Regards,
Mark
