System is 2.2.15, Xfree4, nvidia drivers ver .92

Cannot start X in anything other than 32bit colour.

Tried startx -bpp 16
        startx -depth 16
        startx - --bpp16

Mildly confused.

Any ideas?

I use Linux because it's better than Windows. Should Windows become better
than Linux, I'll use Linux for political reasons. :)
