I've recently subscribed to the linux-kernel mailing list -
was feeling bored (ie. had study to do that I didn't want to :-)
and from what I can gather the memory allocation stuff is
quite shagged at up at the mo. - plus the loop device is
majorly broken - and many other things. I would not recommend
using the development kernel unless you plan on actually doing
kernel development.
