Yeah, I've noticed that, all right. Hollywood seems to have picked up on
*nixes quite a bit, both in making the films and "starring" in them. I
seem to remember noticing in "Enemy of the State" that the hacker at the
start was using what looked like a Sun Ultra-10 or Ultra-30, and I've
seen other films with computer screens which looked like they had
nothing more open than a series of xterms doing 'ls -la' or 'top' over
and over ;-).
As for the thing about films and macs, I thought that was because apple
monitors used to have a higher refresh rate than PC screens, so you
avoided the awful flickering effect you sometimes see on screens in news
clips.
