Anyone recommend a good bandwidth provider? In Cork?
My phone bill is slowly catching up on what it would cost for always-on access,
and god only knows when DSL is going to come online, so I think it's time to
think about a leased line. MCI Worldcom* are quoting me but I'd like to shop
around a little. Quality of service and customer support are important - I don't
mind paying a few quid extra for a line that is *really* always-on, and customer
support that actually answer their phones (and don't fob you off when they do).
Please, no technical terms unless you're willing to define them (said he,
already searching for 'latency'). Also, what equipment will I need? Network card
I guess, but anything else? Recommendations? (Just one machine, at the moment at
least).
BTW, I know topics like this invariably turn into flamefests - reply off-list if
necessary. Just don't Reply To All. :)
Thanks in advance,
adam
* Who predicted - predictably - that it's highly unlikely that DSL will come
online on the predicted launch dates of September/October. Funny, he mentioned
DSL, ADSL, but neglected vDSL altogether. That's what Genesis say they'll be
using isn't it?
