A Cisco 2621 with the necessary interface cards is roughly three
thousand pounds (inc vat). An Ethernet hub can be had for considerably
less than a hundred quid.
That said, from what you've been saying, I'd say a Cisco is overkill for
your needs - any old Linux machine with an ISDN card would be perfectly
happy as an appropriate router, assuming you have (or buy) the clues
necessary to set it up. ISDN always-on access should work out at about
four grand a year, give-or-take set-up fees and the like. I don't know
what it would take for a Windows box to do the same thing, but NT could
probably manage it with a bit of prodding.
