Firstly thanks to everybody who replied.
I am going to purchase a few books that were mentioned.
For the time being I've removed my PHP&MySql pages as some GIT
went and entered some crap and I'm not in the mood for editing the
data veverytime some git enters crap. Also that same GIT i reckon
also hacked into my polling page and entered some new voting
categories. How the FffK did he do that. I wondered. So i can
assume that either MySql is not very secure or my php page has a
flaw somewhere.

I learned anything I know about mysql from their online manual,
web.mysql.com pretty thorough and searchable - sites down at the mo...
*shrug*

The PostgreSQL online docs are quite good also.
