Hi all,

Well, what *does* the load average really mean? :-)

Is it purely CPU load or does it give an indication of the amount of time
spent waiting on disk, network and other resources? Apart from "the server's
gone all slow" is there a reliable way to tell when your machine is just
overdoing accesses to one HD - as opposed to not enough CPU|memory|swap|...
