Get down the pilot-link package.
An strace on the "pilot-xfer -b backupdir" command should tell you what's
happening. Also, try change the PILOTRATE variable. Different speeds work
differently; on mine, it used to work at 57600bps, now it won't work past
19600bps, even in Linux. No idea why.
