[ILUG] writing to /etc/

I just ran my install-sendmail script as a non-root user and did
"mv sendmail.cf /etc/" which succeeded! I found out that
/etc/sendmail.cf was owned by me (donncha:users) even though I shouldn't have
write access there at all!
I'm running RH6.0 and I checked linuxconf to make sure I hadn't given myself
super user privileges which I hadn't.

If there's anyone out there running RH6 will you check who owns and the
permissions on the file /etc/sendmail.cf please?

Please cc any replies to me because I'm off sick from work at the moment..
