I was more wondering how I can stop needing to update my modules.conf
every few weeks, when something else crops up. At the moment, it looks
like:

alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias snd-card-0 es1371
alias sound es1371
alias sound-service-0-0 es1371
alias sound-service-0-1 es1371
alias sound-service-0-2 es1371
alias sound-service-0-3 es1371
alias sound-service-0-4 es1371
alias sound-service-0-5 es1371
alias sound-service-0-6 es1371
alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
alias ppp0 ppp_generic
alias tty-ldisc-3 ppp_async
alias eth0 3c59x
options 3c59x 8
alias eth1 unknown
alias scsi_hostadapter advansys
alias char-major-195 NVdriver
alias char-major-5 serial
alias net-pf-10 off

And having to add new things, as others break is annoying.
