Why not just get the mailing list to reformat automagically!
I'd say the maintainers of the list software would appreciate
the patches (even though it would default to be turned off
obviously)
Anyway, it would work by finding a sequence of consecutive
lines which have the same number (and spacing) of '>' (and
possibly other 'indentors' like '#') at the start of each
line .... you know what i mean
