I vaguely recall using split to get around the "long silent gap"
thing in Nirvana In Utero.
Basicly, compare lenght of track to size of mp3, get a ratio,
decide what time you want to split at, multiply it by your ratio to get the
size, then split the file into chunks of that size, then use xmms(whatever)
to check if its the right size, if not, fine tune the size argument to split.
Then repeat for track at enc of origional mp3.

Unless theres a mp3 editor out there...
I was going to use a wav editor, but I didn't have enough space to uncompress
the mp3 >:|
